French Bulldog (Definite Introduction)

The hair of an adult French bulldog feels rough and short to the touch. We cannot neglect the process of grooming the dog because of its short hair. The dog will shed its hair in the second quarter of its life. Especially in autumn, there will be a lot of coat loss. So how should we take care of French Bulldogs during daily breeding?
1. The purpose of frequent combing
It is necessary to comb the dog's coat frequently. This will not only remove the dirt and dust from the fallen coat, prevent the coat from becoming tangled, but also prevent the coat from becoming tangled. Promote blood circulation, enhance skin resistance, and eliminate fatigue.
2. How to comb the coat
Brush once in the morning and once in the evening, and comb for 5 minutes every day.
1. The procedure for combing hair: starting from the neck, from front to back, and from top to bottom, that is, from the neck to the shoulders, then back, chest, waist, abdomen, hindquarters, and then combing the hair. The head, the end is the hands, feet and tail. After combing one side, comb the other side.
2. Combing skills: When combing, the hair should be combed along the target and pulled quickly. When some people comb long-haired dogs, they only comb the long hair on the outside and neglect the undercoat (fine hair) underneath. The undercoat of a dog is soft and dense. If it has not been combed for a long time, it is easy to become tangled and even cause eczema, tinea or other skin diseases. When combing long-haired dogs, you should comb them layer by layer, that is, turn up the long hair, and then comb the undercoat.
3. Types of combs: hair brushes, elastic wire brushes and long and sparse metal combs. The brush can only loosen the long hair, but the fine hair (undercoat) cannot be combed. Use a hair brush, a flexible wire brush, and a long, sparse metal comb to comb long-haired dogs.
3. Precautions when combing
First, special tools should be used when combing hair, not human combs and brushes. The method of using an iron comb is to hold the back of the comb with your hands, shake it gently with your hands, comb it horizontally, and use coarse mesh, medium mesh, and fine mesh combs alternately. The usage of the comb is to use the force of the hand. The brush has many teeth. When combing, lift the hair with one hand, and then brush the other part after the brush is good.
Second, when combing, the movements should be gentle and delicate, and should not be overbearing, otherwise the dog will be in pain. When combing the coat around sensitive parts (such as external genitalia)Be more careful.
Third, pay attention to the dog’s skin. Clean pink is the best. If red or eczema appears, there are possibilities such as parasites, skin diseases, allergies, etc. and should be adjusted immediately.
Fourth, if fleas, lice and other parasites are found, they should be wiped immediately with a fine wire brush or treated with insecticides.
Fifth, when the dog's coat is seriously stained, conditioner (1000 times diluted) and baby talcum powder should be used together while combing.
Sixth, before combing the coat, if you can wipe the dog's body with a towel soaked in boiling water, the coat will be shiny.
Seventh, for dogs with severely tangled fine hair (undercoat), you should use a comb or wire brush to follow the growth direction of the hair, starting from the tip of the hair, and then combing to the root of the hair, little by little. Do not comb or pull hard, otherwise it will cause pain and pull out the hair. If the felt is heavy, you can use scissors to cut it open, and then comb it. If it still doesn't open, you can cut off the felt part and wait for new hair to grow slowly. However, for French bulldogs, knotting is rare, and combing the coat is quite easy compared to other long-haired dogs.
