Three-line turtles
If you want to raise three-line turtles, you must choose a strong turtle. So how to choose a strong turtle? Generally, we can start from the following three aspects.
1. AgeTurtles are divided into two types: wild and artificially raised. Wild three-line turtles grow slowly and quickly in summer. Each scute of the carapace has clear and concentrated concentric ring patterns, which are called growth rings. Each one represents a year. Male turtles generally weigh up to 1250-1500 grams, and male turtles generally weigh up to 700-1000 grams. They are mature. However, the concentric ring patterns of artificially raised turtles are hazy and sparse, and each ring pattern is sparse. The isolation is relatively large. Although the body weight of some turtles has reached 2000 grams, their growth time is only 2 to 2 years. This is due to the rapid growth of turtles under the conditions of artificial breeding. Therefore, when buying turtles, it is best to use wild turtles. Turtles collected before laying eggs can lay eggs in the same day. If artificially raised turtles are used, the basis for selecting the turtle cannot only be based on the turtle's individual weight, but should be based on the turtle's age. The turtle's individual weight should be used as an auxiliary condition.
2. PhysiqueThe turtle is strong, even in shape, plump and strong, with bright eyes. It feels very powerful when pulling its hands and feet, and there is no tail docking. The cloaca hole is small. If the cloaca hole is loose and the hole is larger, it is a symptom of enteritis. The turtle's hind limbs are not missing claws, otherwise they will be unable to dig holes to lay eggs.
3. Female to male ratioAccording to the body odor of common breeders, the optimal ratio of female to male turtles is 2:1. If there are too many male turtles, fights between male turtles may easily occur during the mating season, and in severe cases, both sides may be bitten. If there are fewer male turtles, the fertilization rate will be affected.
